Vertical Oil/Gas-Fired Thermal Oil Boiler

Model / Series YY(Q)L

A circular-coil thermal oil heater with burner and PLC control. Rated heat outputs span 120–14000 kW.

The YY(Q)L series uses circular coils with a top-end coil to protect the furnace end wall and improve heat utilization. A burner, PLC automation and remote control are provided.

After ignition, the flame transfers radiant heat within the coils. Hot flue gas collects at the rear furnace door and turns into the convective tube banks, then passes through the tail-end heating surfaces and chimney. Heating surfaces comprise the radiant section, convective tube banks and a tail-end section that can include an air preheater, economizer, waste-heat boiler or a combination.

Design and features

Top coil

Coils cover the furnace top to protect the end wall and improve heat utilization.

Radiant and convective surfaces

Closely arranged multilayer coils are secured by welded round steel. Inner coils absorb radiant heat, followed by convective heat transfer in the tube banks.

Packaged and skid-mounted delivery

The inspected boiler is dispatched as a package for transport and commissioning. A complete skid can be positioned on site and connected to fuel and power.

Temperature scanning

A scanning instrument monitors individual tube temperatures in each branch.

Low-NOx burner

A low-NOx burner can be customized for non-standard gaseous fuels.

PLC control and remote connectivity

Automatic combustion regulation is interlocked with expansion-tank level, inlet/outlet temperatures and flow monitoring. Unattended operation, a remote app and DCS integration can be configured.

Calculation basis: lower heating values of 8400 kcal/Nm³ for natural gas and 10250 kcal/kg for diesel. Y denotes oil firing and Q denotes gas firing.
